Could a hypermobility disorder diagnosis help you?

Writer's picture: Linda Bluestein, M.D.Linda Bluestein, M.D.

If you suspect you have a hypermobility disorder such as hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD), or Marfan syndrome, you may wonder if it’s worth the cost and effort to seek a diagnosis. Finding a doctor, pursuing testing which may or may not definitively prove something, and spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on lab work, may seem overwhelming when you are already suffering with pain and other symptoms. And since there is no cure for hereditary connective tissue disorders such as hEDS, do you think it is worth it? In this Bendy Bit, 'Is a Diagnosis Necessary', I talk through the pros and cons of this road.

May is EDS and HSD Awareness Month, so it's a perfect time to take a deeper dive. Be sure to follow Bendy Bodies on YouTube so you never miss a video release!
