About Dr. Linda Bluestein
Dr. Bluestein is a Mayo Clinic-trained, board-certified anesthesiologist who practiced for many years before shifting her professional focus to hypermobility disorders and the complex conditions that often accompany them. Today, she maintains an active medical practice, Hypermobility MD, dedicated to caring for patients with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD), postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), mast cell activation, chronic pain, and related conditions.
Her path to this work was shaped in part by her own story. As a lifelong dancer, Dr. Bluestein experienced many of the injuries and physical challenges common in people with joint hypermobility. She was later diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome herself, giving her firsthand insight into the physical challenges, diagnostic uncertainty, and daily realities her patients often face.
Combining her medical expertise with lived experience, Dr. Bluestein has become a leading expert, educator, and advocate in the hypermobility community. She lectures internationally, contributes to research and professional education, hosts the Bendy Bodies Podcast, writes The Bendy Bulletin, and is committed to advancing awareness and improving care for people with hypermobility disorders.
Through her EduCoaching program and her work as an integrative consultant alongside a patient's existing healthcare team, she helps people better understand the many factors that influence their symptoms, from biomechanics and nervous system regulation to nutrition and sleep, translating complex medical concepts into practical, personalized strategies. Above all, she believes that when people understand their bodies, they are better equipped to advocate for their health, make informed decisions, and improve their quality of life.

One of the most life-affirming parts of my EDS journey has been the opportunity to have Dr. Bluestein on my care team. She listened to my concerns, empathized with me, and developed a thorough, holistic, and targeted treatment plan to help reduce my pain, increase my movement, and set me on a much happier and healthier path! Dr. Bluestein has truly been a game changer in my life.
Since my initial visit, my fatigue is better, my sleep has improved, I have less pain and am less anxious. I have gotten even more than I expected from the regimen you started me on.
I always recommend Dr. Linda Bluestein to people with confirmed or suspected Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes or Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders, because she GETS it. She's able to look at and understand the WHOLE picture of a patient's health and try outside-of-the-box options that actually work. She's a zebra-whisperer who is a proverbial zebra herself. I'm feeling better than ever — less pain, more mobility, tons of happiness and hope.
I am so thankful for Dr. Bluestein and her expertise as a hypermobility disorder specialist! After hitting a dead end in a clinic system where none of their doctors were able to treat my symptoms, I saw Dr. Bluestein. After a month of her treatment plan, my pain was reduced and quality-of-life was improved. She is addressing a health problem that had plagued me for 20 years. I am so happy to have found Dr. Bluestein!
I have my husband back! No doctor was able or willing to explore the pain causes. Dr. Bluestein listened, explored, and suggested medication changes that heal and soothe his nervous system instead of covering it up and erasing his personality. Thank you!
Thank you so very much for being you and giving me the individual attention and understanding of my condition. Most of all, I appreciate your ability to diagnose and communicate a thorough plan for my arachnoiditis recovery. Dr. Bluestein is great and did an awesome job!
Dr. Bluestein was very thorough, patient, insightful, and kind. After talking with her, I have a much greater understanding of my body, how it works and how to help it. I feel confident in the plan that she gave me and I'm excited to start!
Her explanations are clearly understandable even to a non-medical person. Her conversation is inspirational as she explains the outcome and the possibilities of helping solve the problems. I wish more physicians were as transparent. I am confident the person I love is getting the best possible care.
Dr. Bluestein has been the most amazing doctor and I am so grateful to have found you. You gave me hope when I had none. You are the kindest and most thorough doctor I've ever had. There's not enough words to say how wonderful you are and how thankful I am.
