Dr. Megan L. Fitzgerald is a neuroscientist who earned her PhD in Neuroscience and Neurology from Weill Cornell Medical College and conducted award-winning research in neural stem cells, suicide neurobiology, and regenerative medicine at institutions including Mount Sinai and Columbia University. After developing Long COVID in 2020, she shifted her research focus to understanding chronic illness through both scientific investigation and lived experience. Through her work with the Patient-Led Research Collaborative and the Brain Inflammation Collaborative, she studies the role of inflammation in neurological symptoms such as brain fog and works to bridge the gap between patients, clinicians, and researchers.
