Mariaelena Ruiz is the Director of the Professional Training Program at Cary Ballet Conservatory and recipient of the 2019 Youth America Grand Prix Outstanding Teacher Award. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, she trained under Prima Ballerina Nina Novak and at the School of American Ballet.
